WORDS WE USE ~ A STUDY

Use Empowering Words When You Talk to Yourself
(whether you are speaking out loud or silently)

How do you talk to yourself?

Do you use the words "can't", "won't", "don't need to", "why try"?
Many people do.

Do you find that what you say to yourself turns out to be true?

Why is this?

You see your brain is like a computer that you feed each day. It doesn't know always know what's real or not unless you tell it.

Example: If someone you love has hurt you, you may tell yourself that all people who love you will probably hurt you too.

Your brain just files this information for reference, it's data, little zeroes and ones and no column that asks "true or not true?" Now your brain thinks, based on what you told it, that everyone you'll ever love will hurt you.

How do you think you will respond the next time you get hurt?

Right!!

Now, what if we instead told our brain:

"Okay this person ripped my heart out - but that's only one person. I'm lovable and have many loving people in my life who are not out to hurt me. I know that the right people are coming into my life all the time. If someone hurts me, I will forgive them and bless them on their way."

Words can be empowering.

I can
I love to
I want to
I will
I must
I am

We can reach a new level of living, if we feed ourselves empowering words and practice saying them until they become a habit.

I know first hand that it takes time.

And I also know that it's worth it.

Try it for a week.

Catch yourself saying, "I can't", when you don't really mean it and instead try, "I can", and see how you think and feel about yourself.

Remember, the words you use to empower yourself will have a lasting effect, only if you practice them and they become a habit (an acquired behavior pattern regularly followed until it has become almost involuntary).

They say it takes at least 28 days to develop a habit. After a week, you will see that it becomes easier. It's a mindset and you can control your thoughts. Be proactive and not reactive - give yourself some good words.

Dream big and empower yourself! Believe you can and you will.

GOD HEARS YOUR WISHES

Once there were three trees on a hill in the woods. They were discussing their hopes and dreams when the first tree said, "Someday I hope to be a treasure chest. I could be filled with gold, silver and precious gems. I could be decorated with intricate carving and everyone would see the beauty."

Then the second tree said, "Someday I will be a mighty ship. I will take kings and queens across the waters and sail to the corners of the world. Everyone will feel safe in me because of the strength of my hull."

Finally the third tree said, "I want to grow to be the tallest and straightest tree in the forest. People will see me on top of the hill and look up to my branches, and think of the heavens and God and how close to them I am reaching. I will be the greatest tree of all time and people will always remember me."

After a few years of praying that their dreams would come true, a group of woodsmen came upon the trees. When one came to the first tree he said, "This looks like a strong tree, I think I should be able to sell the wood to a carpenter" ... and he began cutting it down. The tree was happy, because he knew that the carpenter would make him into a treasure chest.

At the second tree a woodsman said, "This looks like a strong tree, I should be able to sell it to the shipyard." The second tree was happy because he knew he was on his way to becoming a mighty ship.

When the woodsmen came upon the third tree, the tree was frightened because he knew that if they cut him down his dreams would not come true. One of the woodsmen said, "I don't need anything special from my tree so I'll take this one", and he cut it down.

When the first tree arrived at the carpenters, he was made into a feed box for animals. He was then placed in a barn and filled with hay. This was not at all what he had prayed for. The second tree was cut and made into a small fishing boat. His dreams of being a mighty ship and carrying kings had come to an end. The third tree was cut into large pieces and left alone in the dark. The years went by, and the trees forgot about their dreams.

Then one day, a man and woman came to the barn. She gave birth and they placed the baby in the hay in the feed box that was made from the first tree. The man wished that he could have made a crib for the baby, but this manger would have to do. The tree could feel the importance of this event and knew that it had held the greatest treasure of all time. Years later, a group of men got in the fishing boat made from the second tree. One of them was tired and went to sleep. While they were out on the water, a great storm arose and the tree didn't think it was strong enough to keep the men safe. The men woke the sleeping man, and he stood and said "Peace" and the storm stopped. At this time, the tree knew that it had carried the King of Kings in its boat.

Finally, someone came and got the third tree. It was carried through the streets as the people mocked the man who was carrying it. When they came to a stop, the man was nailed to the tree and raised in the air to die at the top of a hill. When Sunday came, the tree came to realize that it was strong enough to stand at the top of the hill and be as close to God as was possible, because Jesus had been crucified on it.

The moral of this story is that when things don't seem to be going your way, always know that God has a plan for you. If you place your trust in Him, He will give you great gifts. Each of the trees got what they wanted, just not in the way they had imagined. We don't always know what God's plans are for us. We just know that His ways are not our ways, but His ways are always best.

Additional Considerations For Positive Daily Affirmations

1. Because your experience will create the conditions that allow affirmations to manifest, word the affirmations carefully to make them crystal-clear. State your real, innermost desires and articulate your most expansive sense of self. Affirmations based on a narrow self-concept deliver results that fall short, cause suffering, and further diminish the sense of self.

2. Be deliberate in your affirmations. Spontaneous thoughts voiced out in an intense emotional state may produce undesirable effects, so consider many possible alternatives before choosing the affirmation to silently intone. Silent affirmations are more effective than spoken statements, because they entail more intensity of concentration and resonate through your entire body instead of in your surroundings.

3. Link your affirmations to actual daily actions to lay the ground for their manifestation. For instance, affirming that you will win the lottery can only be set in motion when you play in it.

4. Find a way to make it easy for you to do positive daily affirmations. You may find that it is not a habit for you to make these statements on a regular basis. To circumvent this problem, I have been using Subliminal Power, a software that sits on my PC, flashing out subliminal affirmations subtlely as I work. I figured this to be a better solution for me than using an audio, since I am on the PC more often and am not in the habit of listening to a music CD.

You can of course, choose to do a screensaver, using powerpoint slides, with all your positive affirmations in there. This is how my husband does his, on his laptop.

However, I feel that the effect is different. My affirmations get flashed unobstructively on my screen as I work, whereas my husband only gets to see his list of affirmations when he is not on his keyboard for a couple of minutes.

note:While positive affirmations can be very effective, you can multiply the effectiveness by teaching yourself to stay aware of your persistent thoughts.

Persistent thoughts are the ideas that keep automatically popping into your head. Unfortunately these persistent thoughts are usually negative. You must stop those negative thoughts by refusing to think them. Then repeat your affirmations again. Eventually your persistent thoughts will automatically be positive, and that's when you will really see a difference in your attitude, and sense a difference in how you feel.

A god's child

living a DOG'S life

When Jasmine the abandoned greyhound arrived at a wildlife sanctuary shivering and desperate for food, she needed all the love in the world to nurse her back to full health. Now it appears the kindness and patience shown to her has rubbed off - for the rescue dog has become a surrogate mother for the 50th time. Seven-year-old Jasmine is currently caring for tiny Bramble, an 11-week-old roe deer fawn found semi-conscious in a nearby field. But then again, she has had plenty of practice, having cared for five fox cubs, four badger cubs, 15 chicks, eight guinea pigs, two stray puppies and even 15 rabbits. Jasmine, the timid, abused, deserted waif, became the animal sanctuary's mother , a role for which she might have been born...Maybe we as a civilized society could learn from not only jasmine, but all of gods' creatures. All we need to do is LISTEN , LOVE and CARE.
GOD IS STILL ALIVE!!!

nothing to worry - happy living

There is only two things in this world to worry about,

Are you going to be rich?

Or are you going to be poor?

if you are going to be rich you won’t have anything to worry about.

If you are going to be poor, you only have two things to worry abouV.

Are you going to~be healthy?

Or are you going to be sick?

If you are going to be healthy, you have nothing to worry about.

If you are going to be sick, you only have two things to worry about,

Are you going to live?

Or are you going to die?

If you live you have nothing to worry about.

If you die you will have two things to worry about.

Are you going to go heaven?

Or are you going to go down to hell?

If you go to heaven you have nothing to worry about.

If you go to, don't worry,

Because all your friends will be there to meet you.

so in life there's nothing to worry

happy living

every day is not the same

The small frustrations and irritations wield such power over us because they rob us of the illusion of control. But every problem is a potential teacher—a confusing situation is an opportunity to practice mindfulness, and difficult people provide us with opportunities to display compassion. There is a natural human tendency to invest copious amounts of emotional energy in minor dilemmas and frustrations in order to avoid confronting those more complex issues that are largely outside the realm of our control. The intensity of our response provides us with a temporary sense of personal power that helps us cope with challenges that might otherwise overwhelm us. But it is only when we let the little stuff go that we discover that the big stuff is not really so devastating after all.

In the stress of a singularly tense incident, differentiating between an inconsequential annoyance and a legitimate challenge can seem a monumental task. Ask yourself whether the emotions you are feeling will be as vivid in a year, a day, or even an hour. As focused as you are on this moment in time, your reward for letting go of your emotional investment may be the very happiness and harmony of being whose loss you are lamenting. Needless aggravation is seldom worth the cost it exacts. You cannot distance yourself from life's inconsistencies, irritations, and upheavals, but you can relinquish your desire for perfect order and gain peace of mind in the process.

karma

Once there in 1987 lived a man named shankar pillai who lived his life selling hats..his was a job which was not perinnial he had to run from post to pillars to sell hats . the best time for his sales was during summer when the scorchung sun would not let anyone get out without a hat .so one such day our shankaran pillai went seling his hats and by noon wen the sun was was at its best emitting heat ray,he settled down under the shadow of a tree opened his pack of lunch and ate ,feeling tired now he carefully placed the hat next to him and slept .
when he woke up he din't find his hats, worried , he looked around the place but found nothing then he looked up he saw all monkeys over there had his hat perfectly placed on their heads , not knowing wat to do he cried at the monkeys he yelled and shouted, the monkeys in return yelled, shouted and cried back .. he threw stones at those monkeys and in return they threw what ever they could fetch. Disgusted shankaran pillai flunked his hat hard on the ground, the very next second the monkeys too flunked thier hat down and pillai happily picked it up and ran away
In 2007 there happened to live another shankaran pillai (the grand son of our old pillai )who lived selling hats and on one fine summmer pillai slept under a tree and when he woke up there was no hat . he quickly looked up he saw monkeys holding the hats .. but this time pillai had all the fun he wanted with the monkey before trying the last trick .. he made funny faces , the monkeys made funnier faces and he imitated the monkeys and monkeys imitated him and finnally he flunked his hat hard on the ground the very next second a baboon descended down and took the hat and walked upto pillai and gave him a tight slap and muttered "u think only u had grandfathers "

gross meaning : dont be repetative

moral: the results of same action would not fetch u the same fruit in a karmic cycle

Heaven and Hell (spirituality)

Heaven and Hell
A man ,his horse and his dog were travelling down a road . when they were passing by a gigantic tree ,a bolt of lightening struck and they all fell dead on spot.
But the man did not realise tat they already left the world , they kept walking wit 2 animals (some times the dead take time to understand their condition) the journey was very long ,uphill and the sun was scorching and they were covered with sweat and they were very thirsty. They desperatly needed some water.
At a point they came across a bend in the road they spotted a magnificient gateway ,
all in marble,
which led to a square paved with blocks of gold and with a fountain in centred that spouted forth crystalline water with honey and milk.
the traveller went upto a man gaurding the gate
"good morning"
"good morning",answered the man.
"wat is this beautiful place"?
"this is heaven"
"how good to have reached , we're very thirsty"
"you can come in and quench ur thirst ", responded the gaurd pointing the fountain"
my horse and my dog are thirsty too"
"sorry we dont allow animals in here"the man was very dis appointed b'cos his thirst was great , but he could not drink alone;he thanked the man and went on his way.

After travelling a lot, they reached a farm exhausted , the entrance had an old wooden door that open onto three dirt road .a man lying down in the shadow of one of the trees , looked like a gaurd resting
"good morning"said the traveller the man lying nodded"
"we're very thirsty -me ,my horse and my dog".
"there is a spring over in those stones "pointing the spot "drink as much as u like".
the man, the horse and the dog went to the spring and quenched their thirst.
then the traveller went back to thank the gaurd."by the way ,wats this place called ?"
"heaven".
"heaven? but the gaurd at the marble gate said that was the heaven."
"that's not heaven,that's hell"the traveller was puzzled.
"you've got to stop this! all this false information must cause enormous confusion"

the man smiled :"not at all . as a matter of fact they do us a great favour.b'cos over there stay all those who are even capable of abondoning their best pals and loved ones.."

moral : spirituality and faith to god is parallel to love and affection to fellow being.

each day is a BLESSING to me

Each day is a new beginning given by God
I am reminded how blessed I am as this road I tread.
A new friendship comes to mind and it is my treasure.
Watching a child at play is my greatest pleasure.
Being able to help a fallen soul willbe my greatest joy.
Watching a bird build a nest while the world searches for rest.
I am reminded I am only a small part of his plan.
When skies are blue or gray you are always there beside me.
I am reminded of God's love at the site of a rainbow after the rain.
When I see the flag I'm reminded of the freedoms I share.
I remember God's love to me when I suffer much pain.
As the clowns come to town I am grateful I'm able to laugh.
I'll share your heavy load to let you know I care.
I am reminded day by day we have much to share.

"I" its all about "I"

life… or living……????
life is a science

living is an art
with the presence of “I”

life is darkpower, superior, ego
why not let these words go??

they exist in life
with the presence of “I”

just forget the word “I”
and feel the difference in life

a splash of thunder
life becomes a wonder

your life will become alive
but ..
only if you strive…
and only if you strive

living-faith-happiness

A hawk hovers in the air.
Two white gulls float on the stream.
Soaring with the wind, it is easy
To drop and seize
Birds who foolishly drift with the current.
Where the dew sparkles in the grass,
The spider’s web waits for its prey.
The processes of nature resemble the business of men.
I stand alone with ten thousand sorrows.

Often your tasks will be many,
And more than you think you can do,
Often the road will be rugged,
And the hills unclimbable too,
But always remember, the hills ahead,
They are never steep as they seem,
For nothing in life that is worthy,
Is never too hard to achieve,
If you have the courage to try it,
And the faith to believe,
For faith is a force that is greater,Than knowledge, or power or skill,
And many defeats turn to triumph,
If you trust your wisdom and will,
For faith is a mover of mountains,
There is nothing you cannot do,
So start out with faith in your heart,
And climb till your dreams come true.

happy
Live and let live and be happy,
Love and let be gay,
Smile at every frown you see,
Life is really better that way!
Color your days full of sunshine,
Color your skies full of blue,
Live and let live and be happy!!
Now is the time that wind and rainbring blooms white over white.
And the twigs bear again blossoms white white and bright.
so nice when the morning breeze
will awaken roses and dills
and will the old almond trees
greet the now snowy hills.
on mighty hills, on shiny lands
in placid enormous sea
time is going the sea stands
so is the love living in me
long is your love living with me

its now or never

One fine day, an old couple around the age of 70, walks into a lawyer's office.
Apparently, they are there to file a divorce.Lawyer was very puzzled, after having a chat with them, he got their story....
This couple had been quarreling all their 40 over yrs of marriage nothing ever seems to go right. They hang on because of their children, afraid that it might affect their up-bringing. Now, all their children have already grown up, have their own family, there's nothing else the old couple have to worry about, all they wanted is to lead their own life free from all these years of unhappiness from their marriage, so both agree on a divorce....

Lawyer was having a hard time trying to get the papers done, because he felt that after 40 yrs of marriage at the age of 70, he couldnt understand why the old couple would still want a divorce..
While they were signing the papers, the wife told the husband..
"I really love u, but i really cant carry on anymore, I'm sorry.."
"Its o.k, i understand.." said the husband. Lookin at this, the lawyer suggested a dinner together, just 3 of them, wife thought, why not, since they are still gonna be friends..
At the dining table, there was a silence of awkardness.
The first dish was roasted chicken, immediately, the old man took the drumstick for the old lady.."take this, its your favourite.."
Looking at this, the lawyer thought maybe theres still a chance, but the wife was frowning when she answer.."This is always the problem, you always think so highly of yourself, never thought about how I feel, dont you know that i hate drumsticks?"
Little did she know that, over the years, the husband have been trying all ways to please her, little did she know that drumsticks was the husband's favourite. Little did he know that she never thought he understand her at all, little did he know that she hates drummsticks even though all he wants is the best for her.
That night, both of them couldnt sleep, toss and turn, toss and turn...after hours, the old man couldnt take it anymore, he knows that he still loves her, and he cant carry on life without her, he wants her back, he wants to tell her, he is sorry, he wanted to tell her "i love you"...
He picks up the phone, starting dialing her number....ringing never stops..he never stop dialing....On the other side, she was sad, she couldn't understand how come after all these years, he still doesnt understand her at all, she loves him a lot, but she just cant take it anymore....phone's ringing, she refuses to answer knowing that its him..."whats the point of talking now that its over...i have ask for it and now i wanna keep it this way, if not i will lose face.."she thought...still ringing...she have decided to pull out the cord... Little did she remember, he have heart problems...
The next day, she received news that he had passed away...she rushed down to his apartment, saw his body, lying on the couch still holding on to the phone...he had a heart attack when he was still trying to get through her phone line....
As sad as she could be...she will have to clear his belongings...when she was looking thru the drawers, she saw this insurance policy, dated from the day they got married, with the beneficiary being her... And together in those file, there was this note...

"To my dearest wife, by the time you're reading this, I'm sure I'm no longer around, I bought this policy for you, though the amount is only $100k, I hope it will be able to help me continue my promise that i have made when we got married, I might not be around anymore, I want this amount of money to continue taking care of you, just like the way I will if I could have live longer. I want you to know Iwill always be around, by your side... I love you"
Tears flowed like river......
"When you love someone, let them know... You never know what will happen the next minute.... Learn to build a life together.. Learn to love each other..

"its neva too late to express your love now, than foreva bein late "

I Loved You

If all you can give me are tears
You could have spared me those words
If you could only cause more sorrow
And break my heart with your curse
I'd rather have you forgetting me
Than recurring in my dreams each night
Just to open up those wounds again
And reminding me of my plight
My plight of making you to stay
And the love I held for you
But you left me without a word
And a heart that's hardly sewn
I...I didn't deserve this
This misery and this pain
For love was all I sought from you
A place in your heart again
Can we build up on the lost times?
That's the answer I'm searching for
Can we redeem what we've wronged?
Or move on with those feelings sour
Tell me where did we go wrong
That had us lose our way
I'll go back through the sands of time
To have you I'll combat the fray
And stand the hardest tests
To prove my love was true
As yet again my lips part
To say that "I Loved You"

Being with you

The only regret I have is not knowing you since the day I was born - so that I will be able to spend my ENTIRE life with you.
I’m enthralled by your beauty, mesmerized by your charisma and spellbound by your love.
To the world, you may be one person. But to me, you are the world!
There are 3 steps to happy happiness, 1 you, 2 me, 3 our hearts 4 eternity!
If I could change the alphabet, I would put U and I together!
You look great today. How did I know? Because you look great everyday.
What is love? Those who don't like it call it responsibility. Those who play with it call it a game. Those who don't have it call it a dream. Those who understand it call it destiny. And me, I call it you.
Ah-- I forgot your name. Can I call you mine? And, in case you forget my name too, call me yours!
There are 4 steps to happiness: 1. you, 2. me, 3. our hearts, 4. together!
